FLUX Agency is looking for a UI Designer on a part time basis to help us deliver our world class Shopify Ecommerce websites.


You:
Should have 3+ years experience in web design. Designing ecommerce is different to normal web design and the more online stores you have designed the better. If you’ve worked with Shopify great, if not, we can teach you. Most important is that you understand customer journeys through buying processes and have a fine eye for design. Most of our team are entrepreneurs and have side projects, so if you’re doing that, cool. The main things you need to be are; likeable, independent, proactive and a hardworking problem solver who’s fun to hangout with.

Job:
As a UI designer, you’ll be leading design on 2 – 3 projects at any time. You’ll be working with our Creative Director who will drive and educate you on his goal – to be the best ecommerce design agency in Australia. You will be tasked with taking a set of client requirements and design inspiration and then designing complete ecommerce sites, to a dev ready level for desktop, mobile and tablet. Smaller design projects will also come across your desk for our retainer based clients. You will be expected to understand and have knowledge of front-end development so that you can communicate your vision to our development team.


When:
This is a part-time role 20 hours a week. You can work remotely most days (if you want – We have an office in Caulfield). The expectation is that you’ll be available between 4 days a week. Then be in the office on Thursdays for internal catchups and afterwork drinks from our small but substantial whisky bar.


Where:
We have a pretty sweet office in leafy Caulfield North. Its white, high ceilings and the perfect canvas to let your creativity soar. We are coffee snobs so always have tasty roasts on hand. We share an office with an amazing health food brand so theirs regularly healthy protein bars flying around in the afternoons to keep you going on those big design slogs. The office is situated right out the front of a tram stop serving the 16 and 64 lines. Malvern train station is a 2 min walk away.


Must Haves:
- 4+ Years experience of UI/UX design with demonstrated experience in ecommerce
- High level of computer literacy
- Experience using Sketch and Invision
- ABN
- Own computer
- Own phone
- Can-do attitude

We're Looking For

A Digital account manager


You'll have experience in previous client-focused roles is definitely desired. You might not have necessarily been in a digital agency role, but that's OK, we know skills and experience are transferable. You should definitely be into tech stuff as you will want to have some base level knowledge about the things you will be talking to clients about daily. If you've worked with Shopify great, if not, we will teach you about it.

A Digital Project Manager


Don't let “digital” scare you off. We understand people are flexible and skills are transferable. So if you’re in construction or another industry but want to make a change to tech and digital, keep reading. Most important is your aptitude and the ability to manage multiple projects and teams efficiently and get projects done. But, you should be into tech stuff; Checking out new websites, keeping your pulse on new products and just general geeking out.

A Front end developer


You will have demonstrated experience building Shopify and Shopify Plus sites and also experience with shopify apps. You will have good verbal and written communication skills and you will have s solid understanding of ‘good’ UI/UX. Producing high quality work first time around will be a key driver in your success criterias. You need to be logical, precise, driven and a great time manager.
